ABB Robotics Completes AI-Powered Visual SLAM AMR Portfolio with New Autonomous Forklift
ABB Robotics has unveiled the Flexley® Stack F712, an autonomous forklift that completes its AI-powered Visual SLAM Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) portfolio. The launch creates a fully interoperable ecosystem encompassing autonomous forklifts, tugs, and movers, all operating on a single navigation, fleet management, and software platform. This enables customers to automate a broader range of material-handling and intralogistics processes, from pallet transport to high-density storage, across industries such as automotive manufacturing.
AI-Powered Vision Eliminates Need for Infrastructure
Unlike conventional AMR forklifts, the F712 relies on Visual SLAM technology to map and navigate its environment without requiring pre-installed markers or reflectors. Its AI-enabled system supports autonomous decision-making in complex, dynamic warehouse settings, achieving a market-leading positional accuracy of ±10 mm. Certified to the latest ISO and ANSI safety standards, the forklift can safely operate at class-leading speeds of up to 1.7 m/s while loaded. The F712 is versatile, capable of handling multiple load types including open and closed pallets, containers, or racks up to 2,000 kg, and can reach heights of 8.5 meters.

Faster Commissioning and Seamless Integration with AMR Studio
Powered by ABB Robotics' AMR Studio, the expanded portfolio enables up to 20% faster commissioning compared to conventional systems. The no-code, drag-and-drop software suite supports rapid setup, fleet coordination, traffic management, and real-time visualization, ensuring seamless interoperability among tugs, movers, and forklifts. The F712 is also VDA5050 compatible, allowing easy integration with existing systems and mixed fleets within a unified project. This gives customers a scalable, turnkey solution that can instantly adapt to changes in warehouse or production floor layouts.
Meeting Growing Demand for Flexible, Scalable Automation
"Across intralogistics operations, businesses are being asked to process greater volumes in less time, while working with increasingly limited resources," said Marc Segura, President of ABB Robotics. "They are under pressure to move goods faster and with greater flexibility, while labour availability is becoming a critical constraint. As part of our journey to more autonomous and versatile robotics (AVR™), we have combined advanced vision, mobility and intelligence in the Flexley Stack F712 forklift AMR, completing our scalable, AI-powered AMR portfolio."
The Flexley Stack F712 joins the Flexley Tug and Flexley Mover in ABB Robotics' Visual SLAM AMR lineup, covering applications such as warehouse storage and retrieval, line supply, end-of-line handling, and body- and press-shop operations. ABB Robotics, one of the world’s leading robotics companies, is the only firm offering a comprehensive, integrated AI-powered portfolio spanning robots, cobots, and AMRs, designed to help businesses across sectors become more resilient, flexible, and efficient.
