Hirebotics Launches No-Code, Explosion-Proof Cobot Painter for Metal Fabrication
Hirebotics LLC has unveiled the Cobot Painter, an explosion-proof robotic system built on the company’s no-code Beacon platform and the FANUC CRX-10iA/L Paint hardware. The system is designed to give metal fabricators and manufacturers a high-mix, low-volume alternative to manual spraying and complex automated painting lines.
The Nashville, Tenn.-based company said the Cobot Painter eliminates the need for dedicated paint cells and intricate programming, allowing shops to bring coating work in-house without hiring robotics specialists. The portable, lightweight unit works inside existing manual spray environments and can be deployed in days rather than months.
No-Code Operation and Quick Deployment
Using the Beacon interface on any tablet or phone, operators with no robotics or programming experience can guide the robot through painting paths with a “click-and-teach” method. Once taught, the cobot repeats the exact speed, distance, and angle for every cycle, ensuring consistent quality.
The system currently supports stationary painting within a paint booth. Future versions will also include line tracking, enabling the robot to follow and paint parts while they are in continuous motion on a production line.

Explosion-Proof Precision from FANUC
The FANUC CRX-10iA/L Paint cobot is an explosion-proof collaborative robot approved for liquid painting, powder coating, and gel coating in hazardous environments. It offers a 55.82-inch reach and delivers repeatable precision on large and complex parts, while significantly reducing paint waste and overspray.
Dave Wagenhauser, manager of paint robot sales at FANUC America, said the collaboration with Hirebotics and its Beacon platform streamlines setup and programming, helping reduce integration complexity and enabling faster deployment in high-mix, low-volume production environments.
Industry Reactions and Company Background
Matt Bush, co-founder and CEO of Hirebotics, said the Cobot Painter eliminates the need for dedicated paint cells and complex programming. “By combining FANUC’s world-class, explosion-proof hardware with our intuitive, no-code Beacon platform, we’ve created an affordable, flexible finishing solution,” he stated.
“Shops can now bring their coating in-house, deploy automation in days inside their existing booths, and deliver the flawless finishes their customers expect,” Bush added. “And they can do it all without a single robotics specialist on staff.”
Founded in 2015, Hirebotics designs force- and power-limited robots for the metal fabrication industry. Its Cobot Welder, Cobot Cutter, and new Cobot Painter all run on the proprietary Beacon platform, enabling welders and fabricators to automate without programming.
